Code of Ethics

All credential holders of the National Board of Executive Function Certification (NBEFC) are required to uphold the following Code of Ethics. This Code reflects our responsibility to protect the public, advance the profession, and maintain the integrity of the NBEFC credential.

Integrity

Credential holders must act with honesty, fairness, and transparency in all professional activities. Misrepresentation of qualifications, services, or outcomes is prohibited.

Competence

Credential holders shall provide services only within the scope of their training, licensure, and credentialing. They are expected to maintain and expand their knowledge through ongoing professional development.

Confidentiality

Credential holders shall safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of all individuals they serve. Disclosure of information is permitted only with informed consent or when legally required.

Professional Conduct

Credential holders shall demonstrate respect, dignity, and non-discrimination in all professional relationships. Exploitation, harassment, or conflicts of interest are unacceptable.

Use of Credentials

The NBEFC credential may only be used while in active status and in the manner authorized by the Board. Misuse or misrepresentation of the credential is grounds for disciplinary action.

Commitment to the Public

Credential holders are expected to place the welfare of clients, students, and communities above personal or financial gain. They shall contribute to advancing recognition and understanding of executive function as a professional discipline.

Enforcement

Violations of this Code of Ethics may result in disciplinary review and action by the National Board of Executive Function Certification. Actions may include written warning, suspension, or permanent revocation of the credential.
