Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of all websites, services, examinations, credentials, and related materials provided by the National Board of Executive Function Certification (NBEFC). By accessing the NBEFC website or applying for any credential, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

• Candidates must meet the prerequisites for credentialing as outlined in the Path to Credentialing.
• Submission of false, misleading, or incomplete information is grounds for denial, suspension, or revocation of credentials.

2. Use of Services

• The NBEFC website, registry, and related services are provided for informational and credential verification purposes.
• Unauthorized use, including attempts to alter, falsify, or misuse credential data, is strictly prohibited.

3. Credentialing and Renewal

• Credentials are awarded only after successful completion of required education, examination, and compliance with NBEFC standards.
• Credential holders must maintain active status through timely renewal and completion of continuing education as required.
• Misuse of credentials, including use after expiration or revocation, may result in disciplinary action.

4. Examination and Retake Policy

• Examinations are administered online through a secure platform and are subject to timing and retake policies as published.
• Candidates are responsible for ensuring they meet technical and scheduling requirements for online testing.
• Retake fees apply to each additional examination attempt as specified on the Path to Credentialing page.

5. No Refunds Policy

• All fees paid to the NBEFC are non-refundable. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Application fees
  • Examination fees
  • Retake fees
  • Preparation package fees
  • Renewal fees
• By submitting payment, you acknowledge and agree to this policy. Refunds, transfers, or credits are not offered under any circumstances.

6. Accessibility and Accommodations

• NBEFC and the approved provider are committed to accessibility.
• All examinations, preparation programs, and training materials are ADA-compliant, with closed captioning and text-based alternatives available.
• Candidates requiring accommodations must notify the Board in advance.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

• Personal information submitted to the Board is used only for credentialing, verification, and communication purposes.
• Information displayed in the public registry is limited to name, credential designation, degrees/licensure, status, and credential dates.
• No personal contact information is shared publicly.

8. Limitation of Liability

• NBEFC does not guarantee employment, licensure, or recognition of credentials by third parties.
• The Board is not liable for damages, direct or indirect, arising from participation in credentialing or use of its services.

9. Modifications to Terms

• NBEFC reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
• Continued use of the website or participation in credentialing after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
