Overview
The National Board of Executive Function Certification (NBEFC) recognizes select training programs and continuing education providers that meet our professional standards for evidence-based executive function education.
Approved providers may display the official NBEFC recognition badge and are listed publicly on our website as part of a growing network of qualified organizations committed to advancing excellence in executive function training and practice.
Who Qualifies
Programs may be reviewed for recognition in one or both categories:
Approved Educational Program
Comprehensive, structured trainings that align with the core standards and learning domains established by NBEFC credential pathways. These programs prepare professionals for board certification or advanced practice.
Approved CEU Provider
Professional development or continuing education programs that meet NBEFC requirements for renewal credit. Certified professionals must complete four CEU credits every two years to maintain active status.
Programs are reviewed by the Board to determine which designation applies: Educational Program, CEU Provider, or both.
The Review Process
- Submit Review Fee
Each category requires a separate non-refundable $575 review fee to begin the evaluation process.- If you wish to be considered for both categories, please submit two review fees.
- Once your payment is processed, submission instructions and upload options will appear in your NBEFC portal account.
- Provide Program Materials
After accessing the portal, you will submit:- Program overview and total instructional hours
- Outline of modules or sessions, including duration
- Learning objectives and domains covered
- Instructor credentials and professional background
- Description of assessment and completion requirements
- Approximate number of graduates to date
- Board Evaluation
The Board reviews all submitted materials to determine whether the program meets NBEFC standards for Educational Program and/or CEU Provider recognition. Reviews are typically completed within 10 to 20 business days after all required materials are received. - Approval Notification
Approved programs receive a formal recognition letter, digital badge, and listing on the NBEFC website. - Annual Recognition Fee
Upon approval, providers pay the following fees based on classification:- Approved Educational Program: $675 per year
- Approved CEU Provider: $475 per year
- Annual Renewal
Recognition must be renewed each year to remain active and to continue public listing and use of the NBEFC name and badge.
Required Website Statements
Approved providers must include the recognition statement that matches their approved classification. Only one statement may be used unless the program qualifies for both categories.
For Approved Educational Programs:
“This program is recognized by the National Board of Executive Function Certification (NBEFC) as an approved educational provider meeting the educational requirement for board certification.”
For Approved CEU Providers:
“This program is recognized by the National Board of Executive Function Certification (NBEFC) as an approved continuing education provider meeting the CEU requirement for credential renewal.”
These statements ensure public transparency and consistent representation of NBEFC standards.
Important Note
Payment of the review fee does not guarantee approval. The fee covers the administrative cost of the review process. Programs that do not meet NBEFC standards may reapply after six months with documented revisions.
